“It is interesting to note that Beltane has come through the Futurity Scheme…the scheme is to encourage breeders to run on good colt foals, by way of premiums. Colt foals can be assessed in September, with a payment for those considered ‘potential stallions’ and presented again in the following April, as yearlings. Any other yearling colts can also be put forward and those that are selected, qualify for free grazing until their 2 year old stallion inspection in April.” Jenny Tillyer
