“The Society Council has agreed, at this present time, that it will not be compulsory for equines attending the 2019 Breed Show to be vaccinated against Equine Flu. However, the council strongly recommend that any equines attending are fully vaccinated, at least on an annual basis.
The Society Council acknowledges this is still a dynamic situation and will therefore be keeping the matter under close scrutiny, fully reserving the right to amend this to making it compulsory for all animals to have had at least their first two injections (with a seven day clearance) before attending the show. It should also be noted that should an outbreak of Equine Flu be confirmed within, or in close proximity to the New Forest, the breed show could be cancelled or postponed.
We therefore ask all competitors to act responsibly and keep in touch with the society or check our website and social media pages for any further updates.”
