The New Forest Livestock Society, in conjunction with Southern Counties Auctioneers have taken the decision to cancel the face to face sale and pre sale show at the Beaulieu Road saleyard on 26 October due to some new cases of strangles in certain areas of the New Forest including the close vicinity of the site.
The auctioneers have written to all vendors who had entered for the 26th giving them the option to convert over to an Online Timed Auction. This auction will remain closed to other entries. Exact details and timings will follow shortly from the auctioneers, but will be as close to the end of the month as possible.
This is a huge disappointment for everyone concerned, but ultimately it is important that all measures are considered to minimise the risk associated with holding a face to face sale in the forest.
We are currently keeping our plans for the November sale under review and will update everyone in due course.
