Honorary Secretary Position
The Society is looking for someone to take on the role of Honorary Secretary this coming autumn. The society is a registered charity, and the position is a voluntary, unpaid officer role with a honorarium awarded annually.
This is a varied and unique opportunity for someone with an interest and knowledge of the New Forest Pony to become involved with the society responsible for the Stud book of New Forest Ponies. More details of the society and our activities can be found here: https://www.newforestpony.com
Duties will include:
- preparation for monthly committee meetings, minute taking and distribution of minutes. (These meetings are held typically the second Wednesday evening of each month either by zoom or at local venue).
- Attendance at occasional subcommittee meetings to take minutes (usually evenings and remotely or in person).
- Attendance at our local events such as our Annual Breed Show, Beaulieu Road pony sales, colts inspection and our stand at the New Forest Show.
- Working alongside the Society Council members, officers and office staff
- Helping with our communications such as the Annual Report, Newsletters and Stud Book
- Other ad hoc secretarial activities
Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (email, excel, word), essential.
Good communication skills and working as part of a small team are also key features of the role.
A laptop will be provided for home working.
This is a part time position, hours are flexible and some presence will be required at the society office located in Bransgore, Christchurch, Dorset.
